They learn to play with friends of their own age. A recent study found that children who can successfully engage in playing with other children were much more likely to experience better mental health throughout their life.
This is also often the age when they become a little more adaptable and flexible, especially when another child wants the same toy at the same time!
Cognitive, physical, social and emotional skills are all developed as part of a natural progression through the nursery. They are encouraged to take the initiative whenever possible as they learn new skills by trial and error and experimentation.
